Who runs the ranking

The ranking is run by Igor Jazov, founder of Tophosting. He has spent 20+ years in web: founded his first web-development agency in 2008, owned Bridge Brand Communications (project management, branding, UX design) and later worked as a project manager at IT companies. Today he builds his own digital products and deploys them himself on VPS and shared hosting.

How we check the data

  • Speed. Once a month a bot measures the response time (TTFB) of each host's public website from a single location, three attempts per site. Absolute numbers depend on where you measure from, but the comparison is fair: every host is measured the same way. Results are on the speed tests page.
  • Terms. We check the starting price, trial period, money-back period and data-centre locations against each host's own website. The check date sits next to the price on the host's page.
  • Reviews. There are over 2,000 of them. New ones are accepted only after Google sign-in, which makes them harder to fake. We don't remove substantive negative reviews.
  • Uptime. We don't run our own uptime monitoring yet, so stability is judged from reviews.

How the order is set

A host's score (stars) and its place in the list are set separately. The place is an editorial decision: we look at reviews, speed tests, verified terms, reader interest and whether the host is our partner.

Some links to host websites are affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission. Tophosting is not owned by any host.
