How to buy hosting in Ukraine: from picking a plan to a live site

“How do I buy hosting” is really about the path from the Order button to a site that opens. Which host to pick is covered in our monthly ranking. This article covers what trips people up afterwards. We checked that path against the offers and help pages of six Ukrainian hosts: HostIQ, HyperHost, TheHost, GMhost, Ukraine.com.ua and S-Host, as of 1 November 2026. If a site does not say something, neither do we.

Step 1. Pick the service type

Shared hosting fits a business-card site, blog, landing page or small shop. CMS hosting such as WordPress or OpenCart is shared hosting with a plan chosen for the engine. A VPS makes sense only for your own apps or bots. Unsure? Start with shared; moving later is in our migration guide.

Step 2. Registration

HostIQ lets you sign in with Google or Facebook. TheHost wants an SMS code at the first order, and the phone number must be unique to you. HyperHost starts a VPS/VDS test only after a manager's call. GMhost asks for nothing but an email unless you order a test.

Your email is not a formality

GMhost's offer treats sending your access details as the moment the service is delivered, and refunds stop there. HyperHost's contract says the same about receiving the login and password. S-Host accepts no claims about letters you did not receive.

Step 3. Billing period and currency

Prices are in our hosting prices article. The minimum period is one month at HyperHost and TheHost; S-Host offers 1 to 36 months. Make the first payment short or start with a test, since renewals are not refunded everywhere. HostIQ, HyperHost and GMhost bill in hryvnia; HostIQ's dollar prices are only indicative.

Step 4. How to pay

Cards are the quickest option: TheHost says card payments clear almost instantly without a fee, Ukraine.com.ua says within an hour. Transfers by bank details take 1–5 business days at HostIQ and 1–3 banking days at Ukraine.com.ua. Privat24 and LiqPay work at TheHost, HyperHost, Ukraine.com.ua and S-Host. Crypto works at TheHost, S-Host and, where the plan allows, GMhost. HyperHost takes it only through intermediaries and refunds nothing paid that way; Ukraine.com.ua does not take it.

Step 5. Documents for sole proprietors and companies

  • Ukraine.com.ua issues invoices and acts for payments from a business account, electronically, within 6–10 days; pay by card as a private person and there is no act.
  • HostIQ generates invoice and act electronically with a qualified e-signature; GMhost keeps them in your account.
  • HyperHost signs acts on a company's written request, and its contract puts prices for legal entities 10% above base. Ask sales before paying.
  • S-Host says nothing about acts on its site.

Step 6. After payment

Access details arrive by email. Ukraine.com.ua names up to 30 minutes from the money arriving, GMhost usually sets up hosting within 10 minutes, the others give no timing. If the domain was bought elsewhere, set the host's NS servers at the registrar; S-Host says binding takes up to a day.

Auto-renewal and refunds

HostIQ and HyperHost renew by card after the first payment; you switch it off in your account. HostIQ's offer treats every payment after a test period as a renewal, and renewals are not refunded, so ask support how its 30-day window is counted.

Hosting takes five minutes to buy, and the trouble starts with the second invoice. Before paying, check how to switch off auto-charging, what to pay with, and where to ask for an act.
